Timothy’s interest in engineering started in secondary school where he learned fitting, machining and technical drawing skills. After leaving school he enrolled in a Diploma of Graphic Design course at Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE (BRIT), and in 2008 started an engineering apprenticeship. He is currently finishing his apprenticeship at BRIT.
Career and study plans are to:
- complete his apprenticeship in 2011
- enroll in the Diploma in Engineering in 2012
- attend university and study engineering
- start his own engineering business
Study achievements to date:
- Completed a Diploma of Graphic Design
- Completed an overhead crane course
- Winner of the Castlemaine Business Excellence Award in 2010
- Winner of the Tom Connor Award as a 3rd year apprentice at BRIT in 2010
Technical Skills:
- Competent in the use of NC and CNC machines
- Understands the concept of technical drawings
- Experienced in all facets of machining and welding
- Designing and building model aircrafts from concepts
Personal Skills:
- Good communication skills
- Willing to help others at both work and TAFE
- Leads teams at work while carrying out practical projects
Other Achievements:
- Member of the Rocky Riders Mountain Bike Club
- Member of the Model Aircraft group
