The Victorian Government and the Australian Government provide a range of incentives and assistance to support individuals and businesses with the uptake and successful completion of apprenticeships and traineeships.

The Skills Victoria  website has further details on the Victorian Training Guarantee.

The liveinvictoria website advises which occupations and of any special considerations governing the selection of appropriate applicants.There can be differences between this list and the National list below.

 

National Skills Shortage List

The following trades are on the National Skills Shortage Register for Novembet/December 2010.

The trades below are applicable to the Manufacturing & Engineering Industries and are eligible for the support to employers, Tools For Your Trade and other assistance to apprentices, and Rural and Regional Skills Shortage incentives.

The 6 digit number for each occupation below link to the Australian Bureau of Statistics ANZSCO descriptors. The page will open at the 4 digit level and you will need to scroll down to the 6 digit descriptor for the particular occupation.
